Northwest 53rd and Gore

Outside lanes of traffic on Gore Boulevard near the intersection of Northwest 53rd Street will be closed intermittently as construction of the 52nd Street Project continues. Drivers may still travel both east- and westbound on Gore Boulevard in this area but speeds may be reduced to 10-20 MPH both ways to accommodate for ongoing construction.

Such conditions – reduced speeds and one-lane traffic plans – may last through August in this area as additional waterlines are installed and construction continues. Drivers are asked to abide by all signage and allot additional travel time if this area cannot be avoided. Relevant or major updates to this project will be made available through lawtonok.gov, as well as disseminated through local media outlets.

Be aware that north- and southbound traffic is still restricted on Northwest 53rd Street, north of Gore – in accordance with previously released advisories – adjacent to Fire Station No. 5.

Thank you for your patience and support of this project, which is being carried out by T&G Construction of Lawton. The voter-approved 480-day, $6.1 million project began in September 2017 and is set for completion in March 2019.
