Applications are accepted only for positions that are open and listed on our website. A resume may be included but does not take the place of completing an application. 


You can view open vacancies on our website. You can fill out the application online and submit it via email to HR@lawtonok.gov or you may print off your application and turn it into the Human Resources Office located on the second floor of City Hall. You must have Adobe Reader installed on your computer in order to view and fill out the application online. 

In Person:

You can pick up an application in person at the Human Resources Office located on the second floor of City Hall.

By Mail:

Mail completed applications to Human Resources at 212 SW 9th Lawton, OK 73501.

Please note that you must return the completed application to the Human Resources Department no later than 5 p.m. on the closing date to receive full consideration. Applications submitted after the closing date will be accepted but may not receive full consideration. 

Open positions remain on our website until they are filled. If the job listing states that the position is open until filled the position may close without notice. Hiring managers review applications periodically to determine the best potential candidates to interview. You will be contacted by the phone number listed on your application if a hiring manager wishes to set up an interview with you. 

For many jobs conditional offers are made pending a driver's license check, medical examination, alcohol/drug testing, and/or polygraph/background investigation. If you receive a conditional offer you will be told to contact Human Resources to set up the required testing and/or fill out the appropriate paperwork. Your job offer is contingent upon successful completion of the required testing and submission of required paperwork.

If you are not selected for the position you will receive an email at the address you provided on your application notifying you that the position has been filled. Our objective is to hire the best possible person for the position. If you are not selected for the position we encourage you to continue applying for other positions in which are qualified for.
