Barbara BurnettSystems Analyst/Database Admin
Barbara is the Systems Analyst/Database Administrator for the City IT division. She began work for the City as a public works dispatcher in 1988 and obtained her degree in Computer Information Systems from Cameron University in 1997, at which time she transferred to the IT department as a Programmer/Analyst. Barbara programmed and maintained a number of software systems for divisions within the City, starting with the utility billing and payroll systems on the HP3000 mainframe. She developed database systems for the Highland Cemetery and for the License and Permits division, assisted in creating and maintaining the City web page, assisted with the conversion of the accounting, payroll, and utility billing systems from HP mainframe to client server database management systems, and created a spreadsheet system for city-wide budgeting. Barbara was promoted to Systems Analyst/Database Administrator in 2008. In that capacity, she supervises the IT programming staff and administers, manages and maintains the City’s database management systems, including setup, configuration, and data integrity as well as software applications within the City.
