Brian Shotts began his law enforcement career at the Comanche County Sherriff’s Department in 1996, later the same year he began working full time in the jail and then went onto the road working as a patrol officer. In 1998, Deputy Shotts became a K-9 handler working K-9 Jensen. In 1999 he was promoted to supervisor, overseeing K-9, SWAT Team, and patrol. During this time Brian worked as a drug interdiction unit and also as a narcotics investigator.
In 2003 Officer Shotts left the Sherriff’s Office to join the Lawton Police Department. In 2003 Brian was assigned as a K-9 handler and became responsible for K-9 Rex. In 2006 Officer Shotts was assigned as a K-9 officer for the Gang Unit where he remained until 2011 when he was transferred to a position in CID as a Detective. Sergeant Shotts was promoted to Lieutenant in September of 2012 and was transferred to the Gang Unit in 2015. Lt. Shotts is also a CLEET Firearms Instructor for the department.
