Tiffany Martinez VrskaCommunity Relations Director
Tiffany Martinez Vrska, a Lawton native, became the first Community Relations Director for the City of Lawton in May 2017.
She graduated from Cameron University as a McMahon Scholar with a bachelor of the arts degree in Communication, with an emphasis in broadcast media. Upon graduation, she left the restaurant industry and reported for both the Grady County Express-Star and The Lawton Constitution newspapers. In 2015, she joined Lawton Public Schools as Video Production Manager where she worked until accepting her current position for the City of Lawton.
Vrska is FEMA certified to serve in times of crisis and brings social media management, event coordination, strategic planning, live production, public speaking and branding development experience to the Community Relations Office. Under the direction of the City Manager, Vrska manages City relationships with the media and ensures quality and accurate dissemination of information. She provides departments with marketing support and directs communication initiatives while providing counsel to City leadership.
As a proud advocate for the City of Lawton, Vrska is involved in many aspects of the community. She is a community partner of the United Way of Southwest Oklahoma, Lawton Proud, Fit Kids of Southwest Oklahoma Coalition and the Lawton Enhancement Trust Authority. Vrska serves on city-wide planning committees, specializing in coordination and public relations efforts, to include the AIM Committee via Lawton Public Schools, the Lawton Fort Sill Freedom Festival and Lawton Fort Sill Open Streets. She is a graduate of the Leadership Lawton Fort Sill program, Class XXIX. In December 2019, Vrska was honored as one of 52 finalists of Southwest Oklahoma through the Southwest Ledger's "12:10 To the Top" initiative, recognizing young professionals striving to make Oklahoma a Top 10 State.
During her time at the City of Lawton, Vrska has authored both Council and Administrative Policies, worked to further educational partnerships and community outreach, strengthened ties between the City and the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce, and established the first Communications internship program for the City Manager's Office.
Vrska is the daughter of a homemaker and Lawton Police officer, and a congregant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She resides on the west side of Lawton with husband Kyle.
