This annual event commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. This year's theme is "Celebrating Champions of Human and Civil Rights" and the celebrations will be held from 3:30 to 8 p.m.:

  • Opening Ceremonies will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Frederick Douglass Professional Development Center, 102 E. Gore. 
  • Entertainment, Food & Fun will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Patterson Community Center, 4 NE Arlington.
