You can view open vacancies on our website. You will need to set up an Applicant Account to submit an application. Human Resources has a kiosk available for use, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Open positions remain on our website until they are filled. If the job listing states that the position is open until filled the position may close without notice. Hiring managers review applications periodically to determine the best potential candidates to interview. You will be contacted by the phone number listed on your application if a hiring manager wishes to set up an interview with you.
There are multiple phases to the hiring process within the City of Lawton once you turn in a completed application. First, the applications are screened based on current City Code and the requirements of the specific job. Next, the Hiring Managers come to Human Resources and look through the applications to see if they believe there are qualified applicants for their posted job. Once the Hiring Manager has selected the applicants s/he would like to interview, s/he then will contact the applicants, most likely by phone, to schedule an in-person interview. Once all the interviews are completed, the Hiring Manager will make a decision on who they wish to hire. The Hiring Manager will notify Human Resources and the Manager will then contact the applicant and have them report to Human Resources.
The manager will make a conditional offer of employment to the applicant. The conditional offer is contingent on the satisfactory completion of alcohol/drug testing, a criminal and traffic history background check, and a physical if required for a specific job. There are also some jobs that may require a polygraph examination and a more extensive background check. There will be some paperwork at Human Resources that must be completed prior to any of the listed testing is conducted. Once all of the pre-employment requisites are satisfactorily completed, the Hiring Manager will contact the applicant and discuss a hiring date.
If you were contacted and participated in an in-person interview and are not selected to fill the position, you will receive an email at the address provided in your application or a letter notifying you that you were not selected. Our objective is to hire the best possible person for the position. If you are not selected for the position we encourage you to continue applying for other positions in which you are qualified for.
If you feel that you require assistance in any stage of the application/hiring process due to a disability, please contact Human Resources at 580-581-3392 so that a reasonable accommodation can be made to meet your needs.
All new vacancies will be posted to our website.

You can only apply for jobs that are currently open and posted. We do not accept applications for jobs that are not posted or open at the current time. Due to the process that is followed concerning applications and the review of applications by Hiring Managers, we cannot accept applications that do not have a specific Job Title and Announcement Number. Applications that state “any job” will not be accepted as we do not know your specific qualifications, education or background.
