Mission Statement

The Parks & Grounds Department is responsible for creating and maintaining pleasurable, attractive and inviting public spaces that strengthen mental, physical and spiritual growth.

This is accomplished through five divisions each performing specific services unique to their team:

Athletic/Landscape Maintenance – maintenance of athletic facilities and high profile City properties
Park Maintenance – general park maintenance and event support
Lakes – stewardship of Lake Lawtonka and Lake Ellsworth recreational areas
Cemetery – management and maintenance of Highland Cemetery
Building Maintenance – predictive and preventative maintenance, repairs and construction
