Captain Ryan Studebaker graduated from Cameron University in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He was hired by the Lawton Police Department on July 10th, 2003. Captain Studebaker was a Field Training Officer and served as part of the Honor Guard during his time as a patrolman. He holds an Advanced CLEET Certificate and is a CLEET Certified Instructor.
On November 9th, 2015 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. As a Lieutenant he was a squad leader on the Field Force Operations Team, a Crisis Negotiation Team member, and the Field Training Officer Program Coordinator. He completed Homeland Security’s training of Field Force Operations and the FBI’s Crisis Negotiation Course.
On September 23rd, 2019 he was promoted to the rank of Captain. He is currently assigned to Charlie Team as a Patrol Watch Commander. He is the Commander for the Crisis Negotiation Team and Crisis Intervention Team. He serves as the Chairman for the police and general employees’ vehicle accident review board and is Lawton’s program director for the Oklahoma Highway Safety Grant. He donates his off-duty time to Lawton history organizations.
