City collaborates with LPS: Lawton Can Read Program
In preparation for National Reading Month in March, the Lawton Public Schools Curriculum and Communications departments are teaming with local community members for the "Lawton Can Read" initiative. Members are reading their favorite children's books on camera to then share with students digitally. Every day in March, videos will be posted to promote reading at home!
Several City of Lawton employees have or will be participating in this initiative, to include: Chief of Police James T. Smith, Community Relations Director Tiffany Martinez Vrska, Community Services Director Richard Rogalski and Assistant City Manager Bart Hadley.
We thank Lawton Public Schools for this unique collaboration and for the chance to get community youth excited about reading!
