City welcomes new Neighborhood Services Supervisor
August 27, 2019
The City of Lawton welcomes Will Hines as the Neighborhood Services Supervisor, effective Aug. 26, following the departure of Brock Greenhill. Hines is a longtime, dedicated public servant, who recently retired from the Lawton Police Department as assistant chief of police after completing 30 years of service.
“I am looking forward to continuing the mission of this division – improving the quality of life throughout the community through professional interaction, education and response,” Hines said.
The Neighborhood Services Division is housed in the Community Services Department. It is comprised of a supervisor, five code enforcement officers and two admin assistants, who actively seek to encourage voluntarily compliance with City Code. Staff in this division educate and assist with ordinances pertaining to maintenance, sanitation, rehabilitation, conservation, structure safety, sight obstructions and public nuisances with the goal of preserving the aesthetics and values on Lawton neighborhoods.
“We want to continue progress made in this division and advance inter-departmental collaborations, which I feel I can greatly assist with,” Hines said, commenting on the many relationships and partnerships he has grown throughout his time in public service. “This is an area of the City that works closely with many other offices and divisions, and that is a great thing. Together, we’re going to push forward in further beautifying our city and instilling community pride.”
Aside from day-to-day tasks and responsibilities, Neighborhood Services also assists in the coordination of the Annual Trash Off event. Hines will make additional contacts and undergo certification trainings the next several weeks as he settles into his new position.
