Fireworks Reminder

As Independence Day approaches, we are overjoyed to celebrate with citizens and hope everyone has an opportunity to take part in the Lawton Fort Sill celebration at the Freedom Festival in Elmer Thomas Park on July 1.

We would like to use this time to also remind citizens and visitors that firework discharge is prohibited in Lawton city limits and on all Lawton properties, to include Lake Lawtonka and Lake Ellsworth. This excludes professional fireworks displays that have been approved to take place by the City of Lawton, such as that occurring at the Freedom Festival.

This reminder is in accordance with Lawton City Code Chapter 11: Fire Prevention. Thank you.
