Information on Once-A-Week Residential Trash Collection, Monthly Free Bulk Collections
PUBLISHED 1/27/2021
Once-a-week residential trash collection in the City of Lawton will begin April 5, 2021. A coinciding map and schedule can be found by clicking here.
Under this plan, residents will also experience once-a-month bulky waste pickup, which allows for residents to set out four cubic yards of eligible bulky waste to be collected. As a result of given changes, more total volume of trash collection will occur annually for citizens. (A document concerning this change was mailed to all utility account holders prior to April.)
"This plan is not only better for the environment, but will also create cleaner neighborhoods and allow saving measures incurred to be put toward needed maintenance and equipment," said Deputy City Manager Richard Rogalski, "which will help ensure services are constantly running efficiently for our community."
Additionally, under this plan, trash collection will take place on each holiday in 2021 falling on a weekday with the exception of Thanksgiving. Citizens should reference the color-coded map and schedule linked above for details. In weeks to come, every citizen with an active water account will also be mailed a hard-copy map and schedule.
Interested citizens may lease a second polycart for $5.20 a month. Citizens can also learn more about Solid Waste Collection operations at lawtonok.gov/departments/solid-waste-collection.
