Lawton recognizes Psi Upsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Week

At Tuesday’s City Council meeting, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. accepted a proclamation presented by Mayor Stan Booker. Basileus John Hale and Michael Forrest, the Keeper of Records and Seal, represented the Psi Upsilon Chapter at the meeting.
The proclamation recognizes November 13-19 to be Psi Upsilon Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Week.
Omega Psi Phi is the first international fraternal organization to be founded on the campus of a historically black college, Howard University. The Psi Upsilon Chapter was chartered at the Patterson Center in Lawton, Oklahoma, on July 5, 1952.
The proclamation states that the Psi Upsilon Chapter has carried out the goals of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in the Lawton-Fort Sill Community by participating in events to uplift the community, including voting registration, scholarship programs, and youth mentorship programs.
