Owens Center hosts Stand Down for Homeless Veterans Event

The Owens Rec. Center will be closed Thursday, August 11th from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m. and again on Friday, August 12th from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. due to the Southwest Oklahoma Stand Down for Homeless Veterans event.
The Stand Down is happening August 12th and is free for homeless veterans. Breakfast will begin at 6:30 a.m., services for veterans will be offered from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., and lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. The event is being hosted by the Housing & Community Development Office in conjunction with the Lawton Housing Authority.
Services include: meals, clothing, haircuts, toiletries, housing assistance, dental & medical screenings, substance abuse treatment and much more. For more information, contact Jervis Jackson at (580) 353-7397.
The Owens Rec. Center will still host the regular Friday PE class at 11 a.m., but activities will be moved outside.
