Parks and Recreation Updates Rec Center Hours and Aquatics Facilities Hours

During the May 10 regular Lawton City Council meeting, council voted to approve revised hours for the City of Lawton’s three recreation centers along with the operating hours for the city’s aquatics facilities for the 2022 season.
RECREATION CENTERS
The following is the updated hours for the City of Lawton’s three recreation centers, which includes the HC King Center, Owens Multipurpose Center and the Patterson Center. The new hours for each recreation center will go into effect Tuesday, May 31.
HC King Center (1705 NW 20th Street)
- 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday
Owens Multipurpose Center (1405 SW 11th Street)
- 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday
Patterson Center (4 NE Arlington)
- 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday
City Council did approve each center to be open from 1-5 p.m. Saturdays, but the centers will not practice these hours until adequate staffing is available. An announcement will be made when the centers are able to open on Saturdays.
AQUATICS HOURS
The following is the operating hours for the City of Lawton’s aquatics facilities for the 2022 season.
Municipal Pool (SW 11th Street and SW J Avenue)
- Opens Saturday, May 21 with special hours. The Municipal Pool will kick off the summer season with a Pool Splash Bash from 2-7 p.m. Saturday, May 21.
- Noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday
- To rent the Municipal Pool, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 580-581-3400.
Wading Pools (35th Division Park, Harmon Park and Mocine Park)
- Open Tuesday, May 31
- 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday
Clement Washington Sr. Splash Pad (SW 6th Street and SW Belmont Avenue)
- Open Tuesday, May 31
- 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday
Elmer Thomas Splash Pad (Elmer Thomas Park)
- Open Saturday, May 28
- 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday
All aquatics facilities will be closed Monday, May 30 for Memorial Day. For questions, call the City of Lawton’s Parks and Recreation Department at 580-581-3400.
