Lawton Access Board
BoardMission Statement
The Lawton Access Board serves as a liaison between the City and individuals with disabilities, local organizations representing persons with disabilities and other interested persons to effect participation from interested individuals in the City’s ongoing effort to ensure and maintain compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The board also reviews and makes recommendations to internal standards, priorities and processes for improving and advancing accessibility within the city.
The Lawton Access Board meets every other month on the last Tuesday of the month at 2:30 p.m. in the City Attorney’s Conference Room in City Hall.
The board is currently comprised of four disabled citizens of the community and the City of Lawton’s ADA Coordinator Michael Jones. The ADA Coordinator’s role includes planning and coordinating overall compliance efforts, ensuring that implementation is completed, and receiving and investigating complaints related to discrimination on the basis of disability.
