The City of Lawton is proud to announce the commencement of the “On Target, On Time: 10 Wins for the Citizens” project.
At Tuesday’s City Council meeting, Lawton City Council unanimously awarded the construction contract to Ellsworth Construction for the City-Wide Pavement Rehabilitation Project.
Beginning shortly, Ellsworth Construction will commence work on City streets, including NE Cache Rd. from NE Flowermound to NE 45th St., NW 17th St. from W Gore Blvd. to NW Ferris Ave., NW 53rd St. from NW Cache Rd. to W Gore Blvd., and more.
The contract, valued at $1,548,624.50, stipulates that all listed projects must be completed within 90 days, weather permitting.
"About 40 days ago, we started this new project, a proven ODOT road improvement plan and within 40 days, we are bringing the first 10 projects to award," Mayor Booker said. "I'm very proud of all of the coordination that had to come together to make this happen."
This marks the initial phase of improvements under the "On Target, On Time" plan. Future road projects encompass NW Ferris Ave. from NW 17th Street to NW Fort Sill Blvd., NE Rogers Lane from NE Angus Place to NE Village Dr., and others.
The current goal is to complete 40 road segments by Thanksgiving 2024.
