2018 LAWTON FORT SILL FREEDOM FESTIVAL
Saturday, June 30 from 10am – 10pm
(Lawton, OK) Celebrate our country’s Independence on Saturday, June 30 at the Lawton Fort Sill Freedom Festival in Lawton’s Elmer Thomas Park. The festival, with free admission and no parking fees, is a project of the Freedom Festival Committee chaired by City of Lawton Councilman Keith Jackson, City of Lawton staff and community volunteers. Festival opens at 10am and closes with one of the largest fireworks displays in Oklahoma, choreographed to music!
Freedom Festival’s amenities include:

- Children’s Playground with NEW shade covers
- Food, Drinks, Sales and Activity Vendors
- Picnic tables
- Self directed recreation and leisure activities (kite flying, games, reading & etc)
- Sweet Temptationz Car Show & Wind River Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Show
- On site ATM
- Park & Ride - Shuttle from Lawton High School & McMahon Auditorium to drop off near the playground in the park
- Restroom facilities
The Lawton Fort Sill Freedom Festival Committee is please to present, Kourtney Smith, 2017 Texoma Idol and 2018 American Idol Top 50 followed by the 77th U.S. Army Band at the lake side stage.
The day concludes with one of the largest fireworks displays set to music in Oklahoma with live broadcast on Magic 95, 95.3FM, after the sun sets, approx. 9:30pm, Also listen via Magic 95's website, www.magic953.com and through their Apple and Android apps.
The public is invited to bring lawn chairs, umbrellas/sunscreen, insect repellant, flashlights and picnic baskets. Please no pets, service animals only, and no personal fireworks, alcohol or drones. Pop up tents are allowed but must be taken down by 8:00pm. For the public’s safety, a portion of the lake’s walking track/trail will be closed from 11 am Saturday, June 30 till 8am Sunday, July 1. The patrons of the park’s walking track are invited to stroll thru the festival grounds.

10:00am – 10:00pm: Food, Sales & Activity Vendors including face painting, petting zoo, and more! (NOTE: Some vendors may choose to open later in the day)
10:00am – 6:00pm: NEW THIS YEAR! Splash Pad
12:00 noon – after fireworks: Park & Ride! Shuttle service from McMahon Auditorium and Lawton High.
4:30pm – 5:30pm: Kourtney Smith, 2017 Texoma Idol and 2018 American Idol Top 50
7:00pm – 9:00pm: The 77th US Army Band, Pride of Fort Sill
9:00pm – 9:30pm: Ceremony with Welcome & Remarks

This event is hosted by the City of Lawton with partnerships from Great Plains Chapter of Ambucs, Arvest Bank, BancFirst, Comanche County Memorial Hospital, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, and Pam & Barry’s Team.
