The festival, with free admission and no parking fees, is a project of the Freedom Festival Committee chaired by City of Lawton Councilman Keith Jackson, City of Lawton staff and community volunteers. The festival will open at 6 p.m. and close with one of the largest fireworks displays in Oklahoma, choreographed to music.

Freedom Festival amenities include:

  • Elmer Thomas Park Splash Pad (open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • Children’s Playground with shade covers
  • Picnic tables
  • Park & Ride - Shuttle from McMahon Memorial Auditorium to drop off near the playground in the park
  • Restroom facilities
  • Live music (7:30 - 9:30 p.m.)

Due to the current health pandemic, the 2021 Lawton Fort Sill Freedom Festival will not include food or sale vendors. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own “Patriot Picnic” to enjoy intimately with friends and family.

Festival goers should also note that due to festival setup/logistics and tear down, certain areas of the park and adjacent streets will be blocked off or closed – including portions of the walking/biking trails – at given times between June 26 and June 27. Drivers should adhere to all signage placed or given in the area.

Live Music by the 77th Army Rock Band

The Lawton Fort Sill Freedom Festival Committee is pleased to present the 77th Army Rock Band, which will perform at the Lake Side Amphitheater Stage.

The day will conclude with one of the largest fireworks displays set to music in Oklahoma with live broadcast on Magic 95, 95.3 FM, after the sun sets, at approximately 9:45 p.m. Viewers can also listen via Magic 95's website, magic953.com and through the station’s Apple and Android apps and Amazon Alexa.
