Caitlin Williams-Gatlin named as Communications and Marketing Manager

Lawton City Manager Michael Cleghorn has named Caitlin Williams-Gatlin as Communications and Marketing Manager.

Caitlin has nearly 14 years of experience in journalism and communications, beginning her career in Uvalde, Texas in 2010 at the Uvalde Leader-News. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas in 2015. She has worked in several TV markets to include KSAN in San Angelo and KWES in Midland, Texas. She joined KSWO in 2016 as the afternoon and evening anchor.

“It didn’t take long for me to feel at home in Lawton,” Caitlin said. “The people across southwest Oklahoma have been incredible and I’m looking forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Lawton in my new position. I want to show people this community is special & there is always something in the works to make it an ideal place to live.”

Caitlin has been awarded an Honorary FFA Degree from the Oklahoma FFA Association, the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association Media Appreciation Award and was named Oklahoma Farm Bureau's Journalist of the Year in 2018.

Caitlin has served on the Crime Stoppers of Southwest Oklahoma Board of Directors since 2018 and has been a member of Lawton Business Women since 2021.

The City Manager’s office is excited to welcome Caitlin to the City of Lawton team. Caitlin’s level of experience, professionalism, and passion for community involvement makes her an outstanding selection for the Communications and Marketing Manager role. The knowledge and experience she has gained from working in media will bring a higher level of transparency and accountability, moving the City of Lawton towards the culture changes and brighter future the City Manager’s office is striving to achieve.
