City collaborates to host Atlantik-Brücke Delegation

The City of Lawton will take part, alongside community partners at the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce and Museum of the Great Plains, in hosting the Atlantik-Brücke Delegation on Oct. 23, 2018.

The delegation consists of prestigious German leaders that travel the U.S. to learn more about American culture, economics and politics each year. Founded in 1952, Atlantik-Brücke aims to deepen cooperation between Germany, Europe and America across various sectors and industries.

“We are very much looking forward to meeting the delegation and showing off some of the treasures of Lawton Fort Sill,” said Brenda Spencer-Ragland, President and CEO of the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce.

The delegation will receive a formal welcome by proclamation from the Honorable Mayor Fred Fitch at the Oct. 23 Lawton City Council meeting, attend a private dinner at the Museum of the Great Plains and meet with local Native American tribal leaders during their time in Lawton. Preceding these activities, Democratic Candidate for Oklahoma State Senate Jacobi Crowley will independently host the delegation. This follows delegation appointments with Republican leadership at the State Capitol, and bipartisan appointments in Washington, D.C.
