City of Lawton Site Closures - May/June 2020

UPDATE issued 6/10/20

City employees will observe another furlough day on 6/12/20. The majority of City sites and facilities will be closed. However, Solid Waste Collection routes will still run. Citizens that have trash collected on Friday should have their carts set out by 7 a.m. 6/12/20 (see a set out guide here: Residential, commercial and industrial collections will all occur 6/12/20. 

Residents are advised to leave their carts out until serviced as routes have been delayed in recent weeks due to staffing challenges.

The landfill will also be open for regular hours of operation on 6/12/20 and instead closed on 6/13/20.



UPDATE issued 5/14/20

The City of Lawton Landfill closures previously announced for May and June 2020 have changed. These closures are a result of furlough days being implemented for cost-savings measures for the City.

The landfill will be open for regular hours of operation on 5/22/20 and on 6/12/20. The landfill will be closed on 5/23/20 and on 6/13/20.

Other City of Lawton offices and sites — to include City Hall and the Lawton Public Library — will be closed 5/22/20 and 6/12/20 to accommodate for furloughs and then closed 5/25/20 to observe Memorial Day.

Essential services, such as those provided by Lawton Police and Lawton Fire, will remain available as always.

Please be mindful that trash pickup will not occur 5/22/20, 5/25/20 or 6/12/20. Trash pickup will resume on the next regularly scheduled pickup day for residents.

Regular business hours and operations for all City offices in general will resume 5/26/20. A full holiday observance schedule for the City of Lawton for the remainder of the calendar year may be found at
