Mayor Stan Booker accepted a painting from Goodwill Adult Day Services on behalf of the City of Lawton Friday morning.
“He’s constantly visiting our individuals with disabilities,” aid Elizabeth Skulski, the Vice President of Program Services at Goodwill Adult Day Care Center. “I never have to call him, he just comes in & never forgets a holiday to stop in & say hello.”
The painting was completed by about 40 individuals in the program, but only a few chose to come by City Hall for the presentation. It’s a project they’ve been working on since before the Covid Pandemic.
“Some people get really happy with the paint brushes so we have to restart, paint over or give them a little section to do because of their disabilities,” Skulski said.
You can see the beautiful painting in the lobby of Lawton City Hall, located at 212 SW 9th Street.
