Lawton Public Library Picture Book Contest

To celebrate Picture Book Month, the Lawton Public Library is hosting a picture book contest during the month of November. Contestants are asked to write and illustrate a winter-themed picture book. The entry must be on paper measuring 17 inch long by 11 inch height. Paper can be picked up at the library – contestants may also use their own paper. The book should be 13 numbered pages, including the cover. Submissions will be accepted from Monday, Nov. 1 to Saturday, Nov. 27. Winners will be contacted by Monday, Nov. 29.

One winner will be selected from the following age ranges: ages 6-9, ages 10-13 and ages 14-18. Winners will receive a prize and their book will be displayed for one month at the StoryWalkat Elmer Thomas Park.

The competition doesn’t end there. The Library will host Dabble in Scrabble from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 6. This event is open to rule followers and cheaters of all ages.
