Make a SPLASH for the Skatepark!

The Lawton Enhancement Trust Authority – by generosity of local donors and in conjunction with the International Festival Committee and City of Lawton – will host the “Make a Splash for the Skatepark” fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m. on Sept. 28 at Elmer Thomas Park. During this event, the Splash Pad will be open for use at no cost to community members.

“This is an opportunity for the community to enjoy an amazing amenity at Elmer Thomas Park, while celebrating the launch of another amazing amenity in the works,” said Richard Rogalski, LETA executive director.

LETA projects and partnerships at Elmer Thomas Park, to date, have resulted in the establishment or major upgrading of: Playground in the Park, the Butterfly Garden, Holiday House, Miracle Field and the Splash Pad. The organization approved a contract of design of a new skateboard park – to be built on the west end of Elmer Thomas Park – in 2018. Construction to the 8,800 sq. ft. facility is estimated to cost approximately $440,000.

“The skatepark will be an incredible addition to this area,” said LETA Chairman Jay Burk. “We are confident the community will help us bring the project to fruition, which will give our citizens and youth another healthy living opportunity at Elmer Thomas Park.”

Businesses and organizations wishing to sponsor this special event will have three days worth of on-site advertising during the International Festival – an event attended annually by more than 31,000 people – as well as additional recognition or mentions through media platforms. Sponsorships range from $250 to $1,000. Please contact Tiffany Martinez Vrska at 580.581.3301 or @email for more information or click here.
