In a September article from National Engineering News-Record, the publication commended I AM STEM for getting involved with young learners. This camp introduces students to the world of STEM and how it is vital to our communities.

Experts from Garver and the City of Lawton spend the week leading exciting, hands-on activities to introduce the various STEM concepts and show the students how those ideas apply to the community.

Throughout the program, students learn about wastewater, the water treatment plant, aviation, transportation, and how they all tie together.

Garver sponsored and developed the Engineer for a Week program alongside Pastor Warren Winns from Spread the Word Ministries and Bernita Taylor with MIGHT. Garver’s philanthropy program “GarverGives” provides donations to sponsor 25 students to attend.

I AM STEM allows the students to meet with real professionals and learn about careers they could one day pursue to continue to make our communities better.
