PSA: Solid Waste Collection, polycart/supply shortage

col 38

Due to supply shortages caused by the COVID-19 health pandemic, the City of Lawton Solid Waste Collection Division is experiencing a delay in receiving polycarts residential trash carts and repair parts. The current inventory is depleted of replacement lids for its current polycart inventory. Only the most critical of repairs will be carried out on carts until additional resources are received.

Citizens who are in need of polycart repairs are encouraged to still utilize the polycart as long as it is still serviceable. In the case it is not, the Solid Waste Collection Division will accept three 35 gallon tied trash bags placed at the curb.

Repairs, replacements and additional polycarts will be made available as soon as supplies are received.

For more information, call 580.581.3428 or email @email.

Beginning Fall 2020, trash pickup schedule changes and a bulk trash pickup program were expected to begin. Again, due to overall supply/equipment shortages being experienced, citizens are advised that this will not occur until closer to 2021 or thereafter. The community will promptly be made aware of any changes concerning their solid waste collection via, CodeRED alerts and the traditional Press.

Thank you.
