2/4/20, 12:10 p.m. -

City Management and staff are monitoring weather conditions and taking necessary precautions to keep roads and facilities safe for citizens.

Streets/Traffic Control has begun loading salt/sand trucks, and preparing and checking other applicable equipment; Public Utilities has scheduled staff for assistance/backup and support as needed; and Parks & Recreation crews plan to stage ice melt around public buildings and walking areas as needed. Public safety officials from Lawton Police and Lawton Fire, as always, are available to respond to citizens in need.

Drivers are urged to remain at distance of salt/sanding equipment and not to pass this equipment if they come across it. Drivers should allow 200 feet of clearance. See details and illustrations by clicking here.

The City of Lawton will remain open tomorrow, 2/5/20. Significant information on behalf of the City in regards to winter weather operations will be relayed to media partners, posted to social media and made available online at lawtonok.gov. Citizens are encouraged to tune into these outlets for updates or visit this link for links to other helpful sources of information during extreme weather.
