Single Audit
Details
The City of Lawton expends over $750,000 annually in Federal grants and awards for the purpose of benefiting the general public. As a condition of receiving this assistance, it must comply with applicable federal and state laws and regulations as well as any particular provisions tied with the specific assistance.
The Single Audit provides the Federal government with assurance that the City is in compliance with these directives. The audit is a study of the compliance and financial aspects of the organization which encompasses an independent examination of the City's financial records, statements, federal award transactions and expenditures, internal control systems, federal assistance received during the audit period, and the overall management of the City.
