Adopt-A-Stream and Stream Clean-up

The City of Lawton coordinates stream cleanup projects with various volunteer groups and organizations. Specific sites are selected based on impact of trash, especially those areas with heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic for optimum aesthetic improvement. Stream cleanup projects are a great way to improve aquatic habitat, water quality and aesthetics while promoting stormwater awareness. Organizations are encouraged to participate in the Adopt-A Stream project and commit to cleaning a ½ mile to 1 mile portion of stream at least once every three months. A sign with your organizations name will be posted at the stream. Contact a Stormwater Management employee if you have questions about or are interested in scheduling a stream cleanup project.
