Mission Statement

There are three accident review boards catering to each section of employees: City of Lawton general employees, City of Lawton Fire Department employees and City of Lawton Police Department employees. Read more about them below.


Driver Improvement Program Board: Comprised of three members and meets the first Tuesday of every month at 1:30 p.m. at City Hall. Members include Brian Morris, Chairman; Candy Brown and David Miller. The board has been formed in compliance with Administrative Policy 3-12, which exists to reduce injury exposure for City employees and the public and to minimize the loss of City resources due to employee involvement in preventable vehicle accidents.


Lawton Fire Department Vehicle Accident Review Board: Comprised of seven members and meets the first Tuesday of every month at 9 a.m. at City Hall. Members include Captain Brad Milam, Sergeant John Beauchamp, Sergeant Chance Mullins, Corporal Codie Howell, Safety & Risk Officer Candy Brown and Equipment Maintenance Supervisor David Miller. This board has been formed in compliance with Administrative Policy 3-12 and exists to reduce injury exposure for City employees and the public, and to minimize the loss of City resources due to employee involvement in preventable accidents.



Police Department Vehicle Accident Review Board: Comprised of six members, to include Chairman: Capt. Ryan Studebaker, Members: Capt. Alvin Winham, Sgt. Billy Hicks, and Det. Gerardo Vallejo, Safety and Risk Officer Candy Brown and Equipment Maintenance Supervisor David “Butch” Miller. The board normally meets the last Tuesday of every month at the Lawton Police Department, although the time and location are subject to change. The board has been formed in compliance with LPD Policy and Procedures, POLICE VEHICLE/EQUIPMENT COLLISIONS/INCIDENTS - 11-5.470 in order to reduce injury exposure for Police Department employees and the public and to minimize the loss of City resources due to officers being involved in preventable vehicle collisions/incidents.
